Babycakes Logo Redesign

Babycakes, a small business creating custom nappy-cake gifts for new parents, needed a refreshed identity that felt more boutique while keeping the warmth and friendliness of the original brand.

The chosen direction abstracted the rolled layers of a diaper cake into a spiralling form, a subtle nod to the golden ratio, giving the mark both sophistication and a direct connection to the product. Rendered in a print-gold tone, with the option of Pantone Metallic Gold for premium applications, the identity elevated the brand while preserving its approachable character.

To demonstrate the new look, I styled pastel, baby-shower-inspired mockups, balloons, pom-poms, and clouds, placing the logo in celebratory contexts that resonated directly with Babycakes’ audience. These visuals showed how the identity extended seamlessly across packaging, collateral, and digital use, evoking the joy surrounding new parenthood.

This was the selected direction by the client, prioritizing a clear visual tie to the product itself. In parallel, I also developed Little Joys Gift Co. as an alternate brand direction, exploring how the business could expand beyond diaper cakes into a broader gifting identity.
